Today is my 24th birthday! If you've been reading my past few posts or following me on Twitter you'll know that I'm currently in South Africa - not a bad way to spend your birthday! I wrote and scheduled all my posts ahead of time before I went away so I'm not actually how I'll be spending the day except I'm sure it will involve a hangover (yesterday was my sister's wedding) and hopefully some macarons like these ones will be consumed.
ASOS style challenge: look four
The idea for my fourth look of the ASOS Fashion Finder style challenge was based around how I'd wear these jeans for a day at the office, and then go straight to after-work drinks. It's quite smart with the shirt and jacket but is still stylish and pub appropriate.

My third look for the ASOS Fashion Finder style challenge is probably the most casual - a good pair of statement Nikes, leather and mesh top and leather bomber.

ASOS style challenge: Look one
Last week, ASOS Fashion Finder challenged me to style one pair of jeans from Urban Outfitters five different ways. I've tried to come up with a variety of looks for different occasions and will be posting each look on the blog this week.
This is my first look - I picked up the jacket in the Zara sale in January (bargain at £22!) and love that it gives a fresh Spring look to the outfit.

Outfit: What I wore to LFW
Jacket: Alexander Wang via Covetique
Jumper: ASOS
Trousers: LOVE
Clutch: Miss Selfridge
Ring: Lola Rose
As promised in a previous post - the outfit I wore to London Fashion Week last weekend. Unfortunately I could only make one day because I was so busy in the lead-up to my trip to Cape Town but it was great nonetheless...a must for all fashion lovers, even if you don't manage to get invited to any shows.
Last week I posted about Covetique and how they very kindly lent me a few pieces. This Alexander Wang was the final piece I chose - it's velvet with little pearls sewn all over and I completely fell in love with it; I think it makes a nice contrast to the all-white outfit underneath.
Lust of the week: & other stories v neck dress
This week's lust comes from & other stories - one of the best stores on the high street, in my humble opinion. The pieces are original and expensive-looking without the price tag to match, and the Regent Street store is like a serene, minimalist oasis in the middle of central London madness. I love this oversized-shirt-nighty-esque dress - the colour, the shape, everything - and it would be perfect dressed up or down. All for a snip at £45!
In other news, today I fly to Cape Town! I am so excited - I have family over there so have been over quite a bit and it really feels like a second home. My last trip was in 2012 so I'm really craving a bit of the hot African sun, endless beaches, good food and even better wine that the city has to offer.
This trip is even more exciting than usual though, as my big sister is getting married over there! I'm a bridesmaid and have a gorgeous navy dress (she's been very kind) and will of course be sharing all photos from the wedding and rest of the trip on the blog.
When I'm away I'm going to completely switch off from the internet and blogging and have a real break (for someone permanently attached to their phone this could be quite difficult!) I've scheduled a bunch of posts and tweets to go up but I won't be replying to anything until I get back, so if you tweet or email me I'm not ignoring you, I'm just probably too busy chilling on the beach!
Event: John Rocha AW14 at LFW
For the past five days London has been taken over by fashionistas from all over the world for the most stylish time of year - fashion week. I was lucky enough to be invited to the John Rocha show on Saturday and popped down to Somerset House for the madness that is LFW - think hundreds of street style photographers and some of the most stylish people and outfits all concentrated in one courtyard. Thankfully the rain wasn't too bad on Saturday but the wind was something else!
Anyway - here are some of my favourite looks from John Rocha's AW14 collection (all images from style.com - they're much better than the ones I took!) The show and the clothes were so beautiful - full of dark romanticism and wintry florals and ruffles - girly, but with an edge. Those velvet coats are definitely my favourite; I'm hoping the high street does some good versions next winter!
I'll pop up my outfit from the day later in the week but if you want to see some more snaps from the day, check out my Instagram.
Outfit: McQueen dress and oversized jacket
Dress: Alexander McQueen via Covetique
Jacket: D&G via Covetique
Clutch: Whistles
Ring: Topshop
Heels: ASOS
Last week I was invited to the Covetique showroom and was kindly lent a few items of my choice. Covetique is part-owned by ASOS and is a website where you can buy and sell pre-loved designer items. Not that any of it looks second hand...all the pieces I saw were in great condition and a lot of them still had the tags on, but they're sold at a fraction of the price!
I chose this dress and jacket (and another jacket that will appear on the blog soon). I am obsessed with oversized jackets and I love that this D&G one is so mannish - and the print of this Alexander McQueen dress is just to die for. Unfortunately now I have to give them back...sob.
Lust of the week: Lavish Alice cropped mini dress
With all this crappy weather we're having in Britain at the moment, I'm dreaming of sunnier climes and the days when I get shed the thick jumpers and coats and get to wear simple summer dresses like this one from Lavish Alice. I'm loving anything minimalist at the moment and I really like the layered detail of this number.
Outfit: leather bomber jacket
Leather bomber jacket: Mango
Jumper: Zara
Shirt: H&M (similar)
Jeans: Topshop
Shoes: Senso
I'm loving the bomber jacket trend at the moment - I picked up this leather number in the Mango sale last week - such a good find. Also loving that it's getting darker ever so slightly later...bloggers who work full time will know how hard it is to find time to take pictures in good light!
In other news, I'm in a bit of wedding frenzy at the moment - my sister's getting married in Cape Town in a few weeks (two weeks in the sun - can't wait!) and yesterday was her hen do so I'm feeling rather worse for wear today. Day on the sofa catching up on the latest series of Girls for me I think!
Lust of the week: Silk scarf by Cleo Ferin Mercury
I love a good scarf, so when I received an email about Cleo Ferin Mercury and saw all her beautiful designs on her site, I was delighted. There's something so luxurious about a silk scarf, and they're the perfect accessory for Spring/Summer.
I love the design of this particular scarf - it conjours up all sorts of images of long, lazy summer afternoons and picnics on Hampstead Heath, or weekend getaways to Paris.

Outfit: Doubled up faux fur and leather jackets
Shirt: H&M
Leather jacket: Topshop
Faux fur coat: Vintage
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: Carvela
These shots were taken on a very cold and blustery day in Cardiff during my trip over there for the weekend. In fact, the weather was so bad two jackets needed to be worn!
My dad's from south Wales so we headed over for the weekend to catch up with my grandma and soak up some (very) fresh Welsh air. While Dad headed to the rugby, my mum, sister and I took advantage of the last of the sales and indulged in a spot of afternoon tea at Pettigrew Tea Rooms right by the castle - a must visit if you're ever in the city!
