Best buys: April
This month's best buy is Revlon's ColorStay liquid eye pen. I love liquid eyeliner, and my go-to evening look is a cat eye. However, I always found the ones in pots a bit messy and it would always end up on my eyelashes, and I'd get random blobs of it on the rest of my face (I realise this makes me sound a bit special!)
I'd heard about eye liner pens, which are essentially liquid eyeliner but in a felt tip form so I thought I'd buy one and give it a go. Best thing I ever did - it's so easy and I can do it really quickly - no more dipping back into the pot! It's £6.99 from Boots so super cheap, especially for a makeup staple. You can see from my picture that the pen's quite grubby, which just shows how much I've been using this thing!
In other news, I'm so pleased to announce that I won the holiday/beach category for MoneySupermarket's Passion for Fashion 2 competition. There were so many amazing entries so I can't believe I won! You can see my winning entry here
Also congratulations to Lizzie from The Dust On The Ground for winning the casual category, Amy from Wolf Whistle for winning the party category, and Tasha from So On Trend for being the overall winner!
Press Penthouse
You may remember me posting about High Street Fashion Week a few weeks ago, and now, dear readers, the week has finally come! All this week up-and-coming independent designers are at Shoreditch's pop-up mall, Boxpark. With some of the designers selling their wares on the likes of Asos, it won't be long before big things happen for these brands...so get your free ticket (which grants you entry on all seven days), and I hope to see some of you there!
Last night I was invited to their press event at The Penthouse in Leicester Square to see a preview of some of the brand's collections and have a chat to some of the designers themselves. I wasn't disappointed...there is definitely a variety of collections on offer, each one being a little bit different. It has made me so excited for when I head to Boxpark on Saturday, although I'm not sure my bank account will appreciate it!

It seems like that season we hear so much about, but has yet given us Brits any love in 2013, is here. Yes, guys and dolls, the sun is out and Spring has finally arrived (I really hope it's not fleeting and we'll be back to snow again next week...) I don't care that it's only about 15 degrees, I am taking every opportunity to free my legs from black opaques and give them a bit of air.
I love this dress, I bought it in the sale last year for about 20 quid and it's proven to be really versatile. I can wear it for work, dress it up for night or wear it for a chic day time look with flats. It's really simple but the low back is gorgeous and it has POCKETS. A dress with pockets can't go wrong in my book.
Best buys: March
Ok, so I realise we're halfway through April and this post is a liiittle bit late, but behold, my best buy in March: Fashion Scandinavia by Dorothea Gundtoft.
I am loving Scandinavian style at the moment and secretly wish I was a cool Scandi girl with effortless, minimalist style like Elin Kling and Maria Van Nguyen. So when I saw this book, I knew my obsession was ready to reach the next level and go beyond blogs to hard copy.
Fashion Scandinavia is about THE Scandinavian brands to know, with stunning photography and interviews with the designers. I'm familiar with Acne, Day Birger et Mikkelsen, By Malene Birger, and high street favourite Cos, but there is a whole world of other names out there and I can't believe how much I was missing out before.
I've had my nose buried in this book for weeks (that's my excuse for why this post is late and I'm sticking to it) and my obsession is showing no signs of waning.

Dress: & Other Stories
Shoes: New Look
I took my first trip to the much-anticipated & Other Stories store on Regent Street last week and man did it live up to the hype. The store itself is exactly what I love in a shopping experience - minimal, well laid out and spacious - none of that cramming as much as they can on a rail so you can't actually see anything. There's a huge beauty and skincare bit which you could spend eyes pouring over, and the clothes themselves are gorgeous, classic pieces that you know you could wear over and over again. And don't get me started on the shoes and accessories...
I managed to control myself and only bought this dress...I love how there are so many different patterns yet it works, and doesn't look too much.
P.S Last ditch attempt to be nominated for a Company Style Blogger Award...if you like my style and my blog, please nominate me (my blog's over a year old so I miss the best personal style blog - newcomer award)
Thaaanks!
Passion for Fashion
Money Supermarket have launched a competition for us bloggers, giving us the challenge to create three different looks, all for under £200. The prize? Your ideal spring/summer wardrobe worth £1000. Er, yes please! I am definitely for the challenge...
Look one: Casual wear
I'm loving sports luxe at the moment and think it's the perfect casual look. The colour of these trousers is just gorgeous, and paired with a simple tee and smart accessories, this is my ideal spring/summer casual outfit.
Look two: Holiday/beach wear
I kept this look quite minimal because I don't like a lot of fuss on holiday. I love swimsuits and think they can be a lot more flattering than bikinis, and I really like the cut out detail on this ASOS number. The structure of this Monki dress sceams smart yet still casual and paired with these sunglasses and flats, I think it would make a great cover up to take you from beach to bar.
Look three: Party wear

How gorgeous is the colour of this dress? Perfect for summer nights. I kept this outfit quite minimal again, with a nod to the sports luxe trend - bloody love that trend.
What do you think of my looks?
Sensing Spring
Dress: Cos
Trainers: River Island
Happy Easter everyone! Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend, a couple of my friends came to stay with me for the weekend and we pretty much spent it drinking too much, talking girly crap and laughing our little heads off. Love girly weekends like that, but it's safe to say that work today was a struggle!
Such a lovely sunny day in London today, I had to get my legs out for this post. Let's hope it's a sign of things to come and we finally get to see Spring...
