The MM6 Japanese Bag
Sunglasses: ASOS
T-shirt: Wood Wood
Trousers: COS
Bag: MM6 Maison Margiela
Shoes: ASOS
Embracing the recent sunny weather with an all black outfit, obviously. It makes up half of my wardrobe so I can't shake it, but looser shapes and lighter pieces makes it's easy to work with so let's roll with it. Also debuting my new MM6 bag from Coggles (go check out the range, you'll want everything), which takes tote bags to a whole new level. My daily canvas will no longer do.
Loose, Monochrome Layers
Sunglasses: ASOS
Blazer: c/o PrettyLittleThing
Trousers: COS
Boots: Zara
After what seems like weeks of rain, Manchester has finally had a glorious few days of sunshine - and there's nothing quite like Britain in the sun. People are happy, the beer gardens are full and it's day drinking becomes completely acceptable.
As for outfits, it's been nice to be able to shed off the heavy coats and go for a lighter option like this blazer, which I've been pairing with loose layers and ankle boots (it's not quite warm enough to let go of them), and having sunglasses as a permanent accessory.
Grey Tunic and Causal Tailoring
Coat: & Other Stories
Top: COS
T-shirt: DKNY
Trousers: COS
Converse: Coggles
Monochrome layers never fail to be my go-to outfit combination, especially in the colder months. I'm carrying on with that whole relaxed tailoring aesthetic from my last post, this time going more casual by layering loose-fitting pieces and boxy shapes.
The Green Suit
Suit: Zara
Top: COS
Trainers: c/o JD Sports
There's something about a suit that's so classic, timeless and easy. Two pieces and your outfit is almost complete - no need to think about it, just throw it on. No longer is the suit confined to the boardroom, all sharp lines and stiff fabrics; the suit can now be anything you want it to be...and relaxed tailoring like this one is one of my favourite of its evolutions.
It's also one that's incredibly versatile. Here I've made it casual with grey adidas Spezials, but I'll also be wearing it with block or kitten heels for something a little more dressed up come evening.
Khaki Trench at LFW
Coat: ASOS (similar)
Dress: H&M (similar)
Jeans: ASOS
Shoes: New Look
This is an outfit made up of old favourites, styled differently to create something new - I love those pieces that you have in your wardrobe for years and keep revisiting time and again. I'm currently on the countdown to a trip to Australia next month so I'm trying to restrict my spending at the moment...which means when it comes to style I need to get creative in order to not rehash old looks. My wardrobe is made up of classic basics that I can mix and match which makes this a bit easier, but I'm definitely looking forward to a SS17 update!
The Grey Cashmere Scarf
Scarf: c/o Nihao Planet
Dress: H&M
Jeans: ASOS
Shoes: ASOS
In those weeks post-Fashion Week I like to keep things as simple as possible, opting for simple layers for this transitional season. I've been going for long, loose pieces and good quality basics like this grey cashmere scarf from new London-based brand Nihao Planet (who also happen to have beautiful slip dresses and ceramics) for ease with a touch of luxury.
Khaki Trousers at London Fashion Week
Coat: McQ Alexander McQueen
Jumper: & Other Stories
Trousers: Mango
Shoes: ASOS
When I was in London last week I popped into Mango for a browse...which inevitably led to the purchase of these trousers. I chose to wear them for the third day of Fashion Week, pairing them with a simple knit and boyfriend coat - essentially my favourite combination of volume and loose, oversized pieces.
