Outfit: The Whistles Alexa Dress
Dress: Whistles
Sunglasses: ASOS
Sandals: By Malene Birger (similar)
I'm back in Manchester after an incredible week in Montenegro. A week of pure relaxation in a stunningly rugged country (I mean, just look at that mountain behind me in those pictures) that feels like one of Europe's last hidden gems.
I'm currently sifting through all of my pictures from the trip and will do a travel post soon (where to go, where to eat and which questionable Montenegrin wine to avoid) but for now, this is one of the outfits I wore one evening there.
I bought this Whistles dress in the sale a few months ago (it's also available in navy here) but haven't had the pleasure of wearing it until now. It's one of those effortlessly elegant pieces that's hard to find on the high street, but Whistles always manages to produce. Paired with By Malene Birger sliders and it became the ultimate holiday outfit.
The T by Alexander Wang Jersey Midi Dress
Dress: T by Alexander Wang at Coggles
Sunglasses: ASOS
Bag: Zara
Shoes: By Malene Birger at Coggles
Black is a staple colour in my wardrobe and that doesn't have to change during spring/summer if the piece is right. This T by Alexander Wang jersey midi dress is one of those really easy pieces to wear because it's cut so well, plus it can easily be dressed up or down. My favourite way to wear it is with flats, so I've paired it here with black and gold By Malene Birger sliders, using the burgundy bag as my piece of colour.
P.S. I'm on holiday for a week so won't be blogging until I return - follow me on Instagram to see what we get up to!
The Typography Print
A couple of weeks ago I shared a few updates we'd made to our living room to give it a bit of an uplift for spring (see the post here) and now we've done the same to the bedroom. We started with this grey and wood sideboard for a bit of extra storage, and to break up the white of the rest of the room.
To top it, we needed a print. Last year we took a trip to Copenhagen and came across a small store in Frederiksberg called Playtype, full of prints, mugs and stationery that focus on typography. We came back to the UK wishing we'd made a few purchases (if you love to shop, don't restrict yourself to hand luggage when going to CPH!), until we found we could order online and settled on this large, simple print. Ahh, internet.
To inject a bit of life into the room, we added a plant next to the print (with vase from The White Company) and it feels like it's completely lifted the space.
Finally, nothing says spring quite like clean, white bed linen. The Laura Ashley Marisa duvet cover and pillowcases (kindly gifted to me by the team) adds a freshness to our bedroom, plus the quality of the fabric feels like nothing else.
Outfit: The Summer Suit
Jacket: c/o Dorothy Perkins (now on sale)
Trousers: c/o Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: ASOS (similar)
It feels like summer have finally arrived in Manchester so I've been taking full advantage by starting to build my warm weather wardrobe. I love an outfit that's tailored yet effortless, and this one manages to tick both boxes - plus the terracotta colour is a nice alternative to my usual choice of black, grey, navy or white. It's my summer suit, if you will, made even more simple with slip-on mules.
Outfit: Crop Top and Cropped Trousers
Top: Solace London
Trousers: Zara
Shoes: Topshop
Any piece that's black and slightly cropped has got me hooked this season; these wide ankle grazing trousers and structured crop top currently at the top of my favourites list. This was an outfit I wore out for dinner last week and I love the shapes the two create together. Throw in my go-to block heels from Topshop and NARS lipstick and I'm good to go.
Casual Bank Holiday Style
Kimono: ASOS
T-shirt: Wood Wood at Coggles
Jeans: Weekday (similar)
Bag; Zara
Shoes: Zara
For me, the perfect bank holiday style is super casual. You can't really go wrong with classic jeans and a crisp white tee - and pairing them with slipper shoes and an oversized kimono jacket only adds to that easy, effortless look. Let's just hope that snow holds off...
