As I've gotten older my appreciation for quality over quantity has grown too, in all aspects of life. At the age of 27 I've come to surround myself with a few wonderful friends rather than lots of average ones, I've realised that one bottle of exceptionally good wine is better than lots of whatever's cheapest in Tesco (that, and I can no longer handle the hangovers) and when it comes to buying new pieces for my wardrobe I only go for those that I know are going to last and I'll love for years to come.
This view may come from working in luxury fashion where I can see first-hand the value of buying into quality pieces rather than the throwaway fashion that increasingly dominates the British high street, or it may come from a desire to consume less and appreciate more. Either way, it's the modern, versatile classics that I'm drawn to again and again and the same applies to jewellery.
That's why the Thomas Sabo collection of stainless steel and silver watches and jewellery appeals to me so much. Clean, classic pieces that I know I can wear with oversized knitwear (like here), with an LBD come Christmas party season or with tailoring when I need to feel smart. I teamed up with the brand to pick some of my favourite pieces, with this men's watch from the Spirit Watches collection and these layered, chunky silver rings crying out to me most.
I love how big the
size of this watch face is without being too bulky, while mixing the larger
ring with a slightly more delicate one (this particular style is from the Together
by Thomas Sabo collection – look closely as you’ll see it says ‘Together
Forever’...perfect for an extra special Christmas gift) is a nice balance of
masculine meets feminine style (my favourite).

The New Camel Coat

I tend to buy a new camel coat pretty much every winter because, well, you can't beat it. This season though I've gone for something a little bit different with this oatmeal-coloured one from Mango (wild, right?) It's part of the brand's Committed Collection, which if you haven't looked at already, I urge you to immediately. It's full of masculine shapes, oversized beauties like this coat, and the quality is next level. Plus with 30% off for Black Friday, you really can't go wrong (thank me later).

Another week, another all-black outfit. This kind of look is pretty much my 'uniform': long lines, dark colours and a hint of masculine style, and you'll find me wearing a variation of this most days of the week. I do need something to break up the black though, which is where this necklace from A Weathered Penny comes in. It's simple (like the majority of my jewellery) but the delicateness of it adds a little bit of femininity and a touch of colour.

I have a bit of a weird relationship with jewellery - sometimes I'm really into it and wear it on the daily, sometimes I'll go for weeks without wearing any at all. Being fully in the throes of autumn, I'm back in my jewellery phase to add a little something extra to my daily uniform of coats and knitwear, adding pieces here and there to usual neutrals.
I've recently teamed up with A Weathered Penny to style up some of their pieces, including this silver layered circles necklace. It's minimal enough that it still fits in with my pared-back aesthetic while still being intricate and design-led to be an interesting adornment.
I'll be sharing a few more of my favourite pieces from the jewellery brand throughout this season but check out a few of them now on my Instagram.

For the most part, my uniform consists of darker shades throughout autumn and winter but sometimes it's nice to break up the palette a little bit with crisper colours. Enter these white oversized trousers that I got for a snip in the Mango Outlet (...which I only just realised existed) and couldn't wait until next summer to wear, worn with a simple long-sleeved tee and black tailored coat for a little seasonally-appropriate extra.
