It feels like summer have finally arrived in Manchester so I've been taking full advantage by starting to build my warm weather wardrobe. I love an outfit that's tailored yet effortless, and this one manages to tick both boxes - plus the terracotta colour is a nice alternative to my usual choice of black, grey, navy or white. It's my summer suit, if you will, made even more simple with slip-on mules.

Any piece that's black and slightly cropped has got me hooked this season; these wide ankle grazing trousers and structured crop top currently at the top of my favourites list. This was an outfit I wore out for dinner last week and I love the shapes the two create together. Throw in my go-to block heels from Topshop and NARS lipstick and I'm good to go.

For me, the perfect bank holiday style is super casual. You can't really go wrong with classic jeans and a crisp white tee - and pairing them with slipper shoes and an oversized kimono jacket only adds to that easy, effortless look. Let's just hope that snow holds off...
Homely Touches to a Minimalist Interior
A couple of months ago I shared a few images from our new home (see that post here) and we've since added a few bits to make it a bit more homely. First up, I ordered another mustard Trio cushion from made.com to dress the sofa up a bit more and add some colour to the otherwise-neutral room.
I also picked up a white side table from Habitat and topped it with a small plant - mainly to fill that extra space between our sofa and chair, plus it comes in handy for cups of tea. Finally, our new Laura Ashley rug (very kindly sent to us by the team) completely lifts the living room, adding another dimension to it and a warmth that it was lacking - plus its colour fits in perfectly.
Making the Backless Dress Office-Appropriate

I wore this backless dress on the blog a few weeks ago (see post here) and am still completely in love with it - but open back doesn't exactly make it office-friendly. Not wanting to confine it to my rail, I wore it to work last week, this time adding in a light blue cami underneath. The contrasting colour meant the detail of the back could still be shown in all its glory, plus it added a whole new dimension to the dress - without looking inappropriate.
